Olivia Willette by Megan Goulx

Updated on 08/29/2023

A rising athlete, Olivia Willette has a lot to come in her future. Being a duel athlete, she brings much talent to the court and the field. Since 3rd grade Willette has played both soccer and basketball.

Willette started out her soccer and basketball career at her private school, Bethel Lutheran. From here, she began playing travel soccer with BASA, than moved to Waza, and currently plays for the ‘02 Nationals Tri-County team. Her basketball talents were taken to the AAU travel team of the nets, and this is where they have stayed ever since the 5th grade. When not playing at the higher level, Willette plays for both the varsity girls basketball team, and the varsity girls soccer team here at Central High.

In the future, Willette hopes to play college soccer. Which school she plans to attend is still undecided due to her only being a junior. Willette says, “I hope to play soccer at SVSU, but if that does not workout any school in state that offers me a scholarship for academics, and athletics will do.” Willette is a very hardworking player, who has much talent, and a bright future ahead for her.

The Bay City Central Girls Varsity Basketball Team scored a win over Tawas and was a perfect ending to the class of 2019 playing in the Bay City Central Gymnasium. All ten girls on the team scored for a 63-19 win over the braves. The four seniors played a hard and emotional game, as they all knew that it would be their last game in the gym.
