On February 16th, Bay City Central Varsity Competitive Cheer Team had their District Cheer Competition held at Linden High School. The girls had three rounds to determine if BCCVCC could make it to regionals. With 12 teams attending the competition, Bay City Central needed to place in the top four to move on to Regionals.
The BCCVCC team had a lot of support from fans to go on and score 697.56 points total. They placed seventh falling short from a top four win, they will not be attending regionals next Saturday. A cheer dad Jeremy Nadolski said “Even the best teams fall short sometimes, but we are still proud of our girls.”
Bay City Central may have fallen short, but there performance was only beaten one other time by .26 points. The teams in the district competition were stronger teams then the girls have faced in any other competition. The points scored at districts were 220.1 in round one, 199.36 in round two and 278.1 in round three.
This year the team got new coaching staff, that didn’t have any prior coaching experience and despite that the girls did an excellent job and tried there absolute best. This is the first year, in five years that BCCVCC has not moved on to regionals. Best wishes to the team for next year.
