The 2018-2019 BCC Varsity Tennis season is now coming to a close. Throughout the season, the boys team has done extremely well, scoring in many tournaments and duels. With most of the varsity team graduating last year, the team did better than expected. With many doubts on the team’s shoulders, they still managed to pull through.
The duel records for the BCC Varsity Boys tennis team is 4-6-1. Now this is not a winning record, but all of the boys except four have never been on varsity before, so this was a large skill jump for most of them. Some duels would even go for 4 hours just to pull out that win for BCC.
Tournaments are very limited during the tennis season because of the amount of people trying to get together on one day to show their skill. BCC did well at both tournaments so far with Parker Sochacki and Josh Lijewski scoring second in both tournaments, and the rest of the team covering many other placements. Tournaments would get the boys out of school but they could take up to 10 hours to complete.
Bay City Central’s Varsity Boys Tennis team broke most expectations. Once again most of the Varsity team will graduate this year and it will be left to new members once again. Taking up the mantle of the BCC Varsity Tennis team will be a big weight on their shoulders but we can’t wait to see how they will do.
