Noah Hayward by Brianna Hair

Noah Hayward is a four year varsity hockey player for the Bay City Central Varsity Hockey team which is also combined with Bay City Western High School. Hayward has been playing hockey since he was five years old.

He loves the sport because he of the fact that you meet new people and it allows you to travel. Also, you create a bond with the boys that you don’t usually make outside of the hockey world.

Something that is different and unique about the #9 is that both Hayward’s older brothers had that number on the team. It has been in the family for 12 years and will end with Hayward senior year after the season is over.

Hayward’s favorite season on the team was his sophomore year. The reason for this being because the team actually came together as brothers to achieve what they wanted all season long. Unfortunately, they fell short fighting for the state title.

Hayward’s favorite hockey career memory was when he played for his travel team and scored every goal from states, to state finals, to the finals, and eventually they won it all.

One thing Hayward wants to accomplish this season is beating his brothers statistics and breaking his own goal record. Words of advice to incoming freshman on the team is to never give up on what you believe in, it will be tough but the reward will be worth it. A quote that Hayward goes by is “You miss one hundred percent of the shots you don’t take” and he surely believes in that.
